Description

The launch of a second satellite of this type, GF 6, was planned for 2017, and will include a two meter resolution pan-chromatic camera, an eight meter resolution multi-spectral camera and a 16 meter resolution wide-angle multi-spectral camera. Notably this is much higher than the 1 meter spatial resolution intended to be provided by the Gaofen satellites. The balloons would also allow surveillance for longer periods of time than the few minutes it takes a satellite in LEO to pass overhead. In addition to the image data, auxiliary image data, and bus service system telemetry data can also be stored in the solid state memory and transferred to a ground station in all three working modes. According to the amount of transferred data and the location of a ground station, all above modes can downlink transfer to a single ground station, or dual stations relay, or to a mobile station, which enhances greatly the efficiency of the satellite. Provide global application service in the fields of agriculture, disaster, resource and environment, etc. The GF-1 spacecraft and its payload are operating nominally in September 2016. Its data are widely used in the fields of land dynamic monitoring, mineral resources exploring, environment monitoring, disaster monitoring and mitigation, etc. 10)

RF communications: the spacecraft features an S-band TT&C subsystem and an X-band data transmission subsystem. The Pan imagery is compressed by a JPEG 3:1 algorithm, while the 8 m and 16 m MS data are compressed with a lossless algorithm to ensure image quality. The PMC-2 assembly is also built by CAST (China Academy of Space Technology). A CHEOS near space segment comprising airships, air flight platforms, and airborne Earth observation instruments and data processing system was however also included in the plan to augment its capabilities and data collection, though little information has been published on this aspect. Information has been published about many of the Gaofen satellites and their civilian purposes. However details about higher-number Gaofen satellites are classified. patient education, surgical outcomes after various pelvic reconstructive surgeries and surgical skill development through simulation and standardized training; pelvic floor reconstruction procedures such as vaginal prolapse or urinary incontinence surgery

CubeBug-1 of INVAP, a 2U CubeSat of Argentina, sponsored by the Argentinian Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, INVAP S.E., Satellogic SA, and Radio Club Bariloche. The main goal of the CHEOS series is to provide NRT (Near-Real-Time) observations for disaster prevention and relief, climate change monitoring, geographical mapping, environment and resource surveying, and precision agricultural support. Gaofen-1 is configured with a PAN (Panchromatic) and Multispectral Camera (PMC) and a Wide Field Imager (WFI). These cameras achieve an imaging capacity at medium and high spatial resolution, with a wide swath width. This allows the Gaofen-1 spacecraft to be used specifically for detailed vegetation and forest monitoring, parameter generation, inland water monitoring and mineral resources exploration. The spacecraft undergoes a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 645 km and at 98° inclination, with a revisit frequency maximum of 4 days. Data gathered by Gaofen satellites are being widely used in more than 20 fields and 30 provinces, China News Service reported. It also contributes to international cooperation by laying the foundation to the Belt and Road initiative's space and information programs, according to the report.

Figure 8: Fused image of the Beijing Forbidden City with 2 m and 8 m resolution data of GF-1 (image credit: DFH) To strengthen the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy, we aim to establish CHEOS as “space-eye” project, innovative project and application project. The satellite is configured with two barrel-mounted panchromatic and two MS (Multispectral) cameras, providing a combined swath width of 45.3 km. The revisit frequency of the spacecraft is in the range of 4 -69 days, depending on the particular application, and the observation range of the mission covers a region between 80ºN to ~80ºS. As different materials reflect wavelengths of visible and invisible light selectively, analysis of the contiguous wavelength spectrum permits finer resolution and greater perception of information contained in the image, through separation and evaluation of different wavelengths. For example, inorganic materials such as minerals, chemical compositions and crystalline structures control the shape of a representative spectral curve and the presence and positions of specific absorption bands. Hyperspectral imaging means the satellite will monitor hundreds of very narrow channels of light, from ultraviolet to long-wave infrared, allowing the satellite to produce images indicating the chemical-physical composition of objects in the image.
