Netta's primary motive to go to the island however, as far as I could tell, was to go hunt for fairies. We also hear of the peculiar scene where Netta was found, leading to further suspicion around occult practices. This went on until autumn, when Netta sent a cryptic message to her housekeeper in London stating that she had a “terrible case of healing” that she felt she had to perform, and that she would be gone for longer than expected.

Most alarmingly, she mentioned the fact she was accustomed to going into long trances, sometimes for an entire week. Netta’s apparent distress escalated until the morning of November 17th, when MacRae arose to find Netta in a frenzy of packing her luggage. It seems to be in some way related to the rosicrucians and also deals with practices related to the supernatural or spiritual. Her body was found on a Fairy Mound on the South of Loch Staonaig, Iona (see map below) in mid November 1929. As the island didn't have a coroner, a local with some medical experience tried to establish a cause of death. The story of Norah's death has been shrouded in rumour and speculation for decades, with wild theories ranging from murder by faerie creatures to Aleister Crowley's involvement.

Netta was naked, apart from a black cloak (which was said to symbolise somebody fairly high up in the echelons of the Alpha Et Omega Temple). All music used in this episode, as well as all other episodes of Rogue Darkness, are royalty and copyright free and available for public use through the Creative Commons. Being a member of the Golden Dawn's remnants, Netta Fornario is a user of Golden-style Magic, though her specialities and primary tools are not known. I think Netta may have churned things up in her own mind to such an extent that she had decided to carry out a magical ritual to try and protect herself from whoever/whatever it was she felt was threatening her.In the summer of 1929, Netta suddenly and without explanation left her home in London and made a journey out to the small, quiet Scottish island of Iona. There has been a brief hiatus after Alex Dickson stepped down from his role as the organiser of ‘entertainments’ in Assynt, but a new team, led by Clive Sheppard, has stepped in to continue the tradition.
