At the start of the Strategy phase of the fourth Turning Point, the players randomly determine one of the two remaining objective markers on the battlefield and remove it from the battlefield. The detail on the models is very good and I'm looking forward to putting paint on everything at some point. These are deliberately vague and by no means exhaustive, and we encourage you to imagine what your kill team might be attempting to achieve.

Low Ammo: Each time a Spy operative performs a Shoot or Overwatch action, after that action has been resolved, roll one D6: on a 1-2, place a marker next to that operative to denote it is Out of Ammo. This one has a very “Orky” design, but I imagine just like with the previous editions of the game that we will see Kill Zone boxes with themed designs and terrain. While you only get 10, this is more than enough for games of Kill Team as all combat is on a model per model basis! Each time this action is performed, you must place a Refined Fuel objective marker within of the operative that performed this action.

As you can see, they are great models with loads of detail and give you an entire until of different looking operatives each with their own personality – just like with the Krieg you can also arm them with more ordinary loadouts for use with 40k, but honestly I’d go with the cool Kill Team loadouts – and it looks like in the new Ork Codex you can actually take them with all this gear anyway! Incidentally, 2 of these together will give you the required playing surface for small games of 40k too! At the end of the battle, if you control one or more Refined Fuel objective markers, you score an additional 3VPs. If a Commander performs this action, until the end of the Turning Point, it cannot perform any other actions.

Each player secretly makes a deck of 6 cards for their secondaries, then draw cards two at a time keeping one and discarding the other until they have a final 3 semi-randomised secondaries – again I love this as you will know what is in the deck, but you cannot guarantee what 3 you end up with. The Attacker must turn the marker face up and, if it is an operative, replace that marker with the corresponding operative. Finally at the end of the Strategy Phase players can reveal a Tac Ops card – these are the semi-randomised secondary objectives created using the card decks mentioned earlier – the key thing here is that you don’t have to reveal to your opponent what they are, but some can only be scored after revealing them – meaning that you are always guessing what secondaries your opponent might be trying to get into position to score. SPEC OPS BONUS Defences Penetrated: If you are currently undertaking the Demolition or Infiltrate the Enemy Spec Op, then at the end of the battle, if you have sapped both enemy objective markers and have at least two operatives within your opponent’s drop zone, reduce by 1 the number of games required to complete that Spec Op’s Operation 1.
